Davit Songulashvili Visits Italy, Attends Vinitaly Exhibition

During his visit to Verona, the Minister toured the stands at the international wine and spirits exhibition Vinitaly. He was hosted at the exhibition by Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, and Federico Bricolo, President of the Verona Exhibition Center Veronafiere. Davit Songulashvili is visiting Verona at the invitation of his Italian counterpart.

Vinitaly is one of the most important international exhibitions of Italian wine and spirits, bringing together participants from more than 30 countries and all wine-producing regions of Italy. The exhibition includes thematic discussions, conferences, tastings, and B2B meetings for wine industry professionals, making it a key platform for understanding global production and sales trends.

Within the framework of Vinitaly, Davit Songulashvili participated in the conference “Recognizing the Cultural Value of Vine and Wine: International Perspectives.” In his remarks, the Minister spoke about Georgian wine as part of the country’s identity, its cultural significance, and its role in international markets.

The conference was opened with welcome remarks by Francesco Lollobrigida and Christophe Hansen. The panel discussion also featured Dragan Glamočić, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia; John Barker, Director General of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine; Marzia Varvaglione, President of the European Committee of Wine Companies; and Sandro Sartori, President of Wine in Moderation.
