Tourist Inflow to Ski Resorts Grew by 578% for 7 Years

Inflow of visitors to Georgian ski resorts rose by 578%, Maia Omiadze, head of the PR Service of Ski Resorts Development Company told the Business Partner TV program. 

The 2018-2019 season was successful and all four ski resorts recorded 15% upturn in tourist inflows, including 19% growth was recorded in Gudauri, 20% upturn in Bakuriani, 43% growth in Goderdzi ski resort and 17%-13% growth in Tetnuldi and Hatsvali ski resorts. 

The tourism season at Georgian ski resorts show growth dynamics: as compared to the 2011-2012 year, the 2018-2019 resort season showed a 578% upturn. The 2019 winter season was special, because the rehabilitated cableway infrastructure in Gudauri resolved the problem with queues, Omiadze noted.

"We are content with the 2018-2019 winter season. This year was genuinely special. Skiers have enjoyed rehabilitated infrastructure in Gudauri. New cableways, new cash-desks removed queues. We have tendency of year on year growth in tourism inflows to ski resorts, Omiadze noted.
