David Songulashvili Meets with Poultry Farmers and Exporters

Georgia's Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, met with poultry farmers and exporters to discuss the development of the sector.

During the meeting, the Minister presented an initiative to establish a Sectoral Council for the Poultry Industry.

"The development of agriculture is one of the government's key priorities. To ensure the effective functioning of the poultry sector and address its needs, we have decided to establish a Sectoral Council. Through continuous communication with industry representatives, we will identify the measures and mechanisms needed to increase production, improve quality, and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector," said David Songulashvili.

The participants discussed the current challenges facing the poultry industry, as well as opportunities for its future development.

It is noteworthy that the Sectoral Council will meet on a monthly basis under the supervision of the Deputy Ministers, while the Minister will chair the meetings once every quarter. This format is intended to strengthen dialogue with industry representatives, ensure that farmers' interests are more effectively reflected in policymaking, and improve the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at the sector's development.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Lasha Dolidze and Lasha Avaliani, as well as senior officials from the Ministry's relevant agencies.
