David Songulashvili Meets Farmers in Kvemo Kartli to Discuss Agricultural Development

As part of his working visit to the Kvemo Kartli region, Georgia's Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, met with local farmers to discuss the key challenges facing the agricultural sector, ongoing government support programmes, and future development priorities.

The meeting focused on mechanisms to support farmers, strengthen local agricultural production, and improve access to modern agricultural technologies.

"Regular visits to the regions and direct communication with farmers are of particular importance. During our meetings with farmers in Kvemo Kartli, we introduced the Ministry's new support programmes in detail. Our goal is to provide farmers with maximum support, promote the development of local production, and strengthen the food processing sector. It is essential to establish a complete production chain—from primary agricultural production to processing. This will enable us to reduce dependence on imports while creating competitive export products. We will continue supporting farmers in this direction, contributing to the long-term growth and resilience of Georgia's economy," said David Songulashvili.

Joining the Minister at the meeting were Ilia Jalaghania, State Representative in the Kvemo Kartli region; Zaur Dargalli, Member of Parliament representing Marneuli; Lasha Avaliani, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture; Giorgi Iakobashvili, Head of the National Food Agency; and representatives of the local self-government.
