Ban on the Use of Single-Use Plastic Food Containers and Cups by Food Service Establishments Postponed
Amendments have been introduced to the Government of Georgia's Resolution No. 304 of June 8, 2022, on the Technical Regulation on Plastic Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food.
Under the amendments, the enforcement of the ban on the use of single-use plastic food containers and cups for the delivery of ready-to-eat food by food service establishments has been postponed.
The new enforcement date for the ban on single-use plastic food containers has been set for January 1, 2027, while the ban on single-use plastic cups will take effect on July 1, 2027.
