Japanese Brand Daiso Plans to Enter the Georgian Market

The internationally renowned Japanese retail chain Daiso plans to enter the Georgian market.

Giorgi Basiladze, founder of Gtex, told Business Partner that Daiso stores will open at Gldani City Mall, Tbilisi Central and other locations.

“Negotiations have been completed, and we have already signed the agreement. Daiso is a Japanese company offering a wide range of products. Its first store will open at Gldani City Mall in late November or early December, with the next opening planned at Tbilisi Central by the end of December. We expect to open around seven stores by the end of 2027,” Basiladze said.

He added that discussions are also underway with representatives from several European countries about bringing other brands to Georgia. However, their names cannot be disclosed at this stage, as negotiations have not yet been concluded.

Daiso is a globally recognised Japanese retail chain known for its diverse and highly affordable selection of household goods, stationery, kitchenware, cosmetics, toys and Japanese sweets.

Gtex has operated in Georgia since 2007. The first brand it introduced to the country was Collezione. Today, its portfolio includes OVS, Terranova, Penti, English Home, Enza Home and Matalan. The company operates more than 30 retail locations across Georgia.
