Georgia Sees Surge in Electric Vehicle Registrations

In Georgia, the interest in electric vehicles is charging up, with registrations accelerating to impressive numbers. Davit Yosava, CEO of E-SPACE, shared on the "Business Partner" program that over 700 electric vehicles have been registered in the country in just the first quarter of 2024.

If this trend continues, Georgia can expect to welcome around 2,000 new electric cars by year's end.

While there are currently 1.7 million traditional fuel-powered vehicles registered in Georgia, electric vehicles make up a modest portion of approximately 6,700. Despite this, the commitment to electric mobility is evident as the infrastructure to support electric vehicles is expanding, with fast chargers popping up not just in the capital but also in several regions across the country, including Kakheti, Batumi, Kutaisi, and along major highways.

Yosava highlights the need for increased awareness to dispel common fears and misconceptions about electric vehicle charging. With a growing network of slow and fast chargers, E-SPACE is at the forefront of fostering this shift toward greener transportation. Founded in 2016, E-SPACE introduced the country's first public electric vehicle chargers and has since been a pioneer in developing the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Georgia.
