Beer Consumption in Georgia Reaches Record High of 141 Million Litres – TBC Capital
Beer consumption in Georgia reached a new record high in 2025, totalling 141 million litres, according to a report published by TBC Capital.
The data shows that imported beer is becoming increasingly popular among Georgian consumers. In 2025, imported products accounted for 16% of total beer consumption, while locally produced beer represented the remaining 84%.
Over the past five years, per capita beer consumption in Georgia increased by 21%, reaching 44 litres in 2025.
TBC Capital also noted that the two main beer sales channels—the FMCG and HoReCa sectors—have expanded considerably in recent years. This growth trend is expected to continue over the medium term.
On the supply side, domestic beer production declined for the second consecutive year, falling to 114 million litres in 2025. Nevertheless, higher prices contributed to revenue growth in the sector. The turnover of Georgian beer producers reached GEL 636 million in 2025, representing a compound annual growth rate of 12.1% between 2019 and 2025.
Georgia also has a well-developed non-alcoholic beverage industry. In 2025, the country produced 474 million litres of non-alcoholic beverages, with the value of production approaching GEL 1 billion.
The industry is becoming increasingly export-oriented. Non-alcoholic beverage exports reached 162 million litres in 2025, continuing the strong growth trend recorded in recent years.
