Record-Breaking Grape Harvest in Georgia: Highest Yield in 30 Years

According to data from October 23, a total of 330 thousand tons of grapes have been processed in Georgia’s winegrowing regions, marking the highest and most record-breaking grape harvest in the last 30 years. The harvest was collected by 21,200 winegrowers across the country.

In Kakheti alone, 323 thousand tons of grapes have been processed. Of the grapes delivered to wineries, approximately 170 thousand tons are Rkatsiteli, 134 thousand tons are Saperavi, and the remainder are various other grape varieties.

Active grape harvesting is still underway in Sagarejo Municipality.

Harvesting is also ongoing in another important wine region, Lechkhumi. In Tsageri Municipality, local growers are delivering grapes to wine companies without interruption. Up to 112 tons have already been received, and the total harvest in Tsageri this year is forecasted to reach approximately 1.4 thousand tons.

The grape harvest has already concluded in Racha, where a record 3 thousand tons of grapes were fully collected.
