Georgian Wine Showcased at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen 2026
With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by its U.S. marketing partner Colangelo & Partners, Georgian wine was showcased at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen 2026, one of the United States' premier culinary and wine festivals, held annually in Aspen, Colorado.
Thousands of festival visitors had the opportunity to taste 12 Georgian wines at the dedicated Georgian wine stand, discovering the country's unique winemaking heritage and indigenous grape varieties.
As part of the three-day event, a professional masterclass and tasting titled "8,000 Years in 8 Glasses" introduced representatives of the wine trade and consumers to the history and diversity of Georgian wine. The tasting was led by Eric Segelbaum, an American sommelier and wine journalist. Georgian wine was also featured in two masterclasses conducted by Wanda Mann, one of the wine industry's most influential journalists and educators.
The National Wine Agency of Georgia was among the official sponsors of the festival.
"Participation in the Aspen festival is important for increasing demand for Georgian wine. The U.S. wine market is highly competitive and places great emphasis on quality. Over the past several years, the National Wine Agency's marketing initiatives have significantly increased the visibility of Georgian wine in the United States, which represents one of the highest-value export markets for Georgian wine. The average export price of Georgian wine to the U.S. is approximately US$6 per litre," said Tamta Kvelaidze, Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency.
The National Wine Agency implements its U.S. marketing campaign in partnership with Colangelo & Partners, one of the country's leading wine marketing firms. The campaign includes professional tastings and educational seminars in cities across the United States, participation in major international wine exhibitions, and study tours to Georgia for journalists, sommeliers, and wine trade professionals, all aimed at increasing awareness and strengthening the position of Georgian wine in the U.S. market.
