Georgian Wine Roadshow Continues in Sendai
A presentation of Georgian wine was held in Sendai, Japan.
With the financial support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by its contracted marketing company Red Bridge, a Georgian wine tasting seminar took place in Sendai, the administrative center of Miyagi Prefecture.
Georgian wine tasting seminars—organized as a Road Show—are being held across Japanese cities including Sapporo, Sendai, and Tokyo during April 7–13.
The presentation in Sendai was led by Kenichi Ohashi, head of Red Bridge, who delivered a presentation on Georgian wine. His presentation covered the centuries-old history of Georgian winemaking, its traditions, key grape varieties, and the development of the modern Georgian wine industry.
Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. In 2025, up to 200 thousand liters of Georgian wine were exported to this market, representing a 42% increase compared to 2024.
The Japanese market is characterized by strong demand for high-quality products and a growing interest in authentic and distinctive flavors. Accordingly, such activities contribute both to export growth and to the refinement of production standards and marketing strategies, strengthening the long-term competitiveness of Georgian wine in international markets.
