Georgian Wine Presented in Austria at the International Orange Wine Festival
With the support of the National Wine Agency, 26 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the Orange Wine Festival held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The Orange Wine Festival has been held since 2012 and takes place annually in Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.
According to the National Wine Agency, Georgia’s participation in the festival provides an important opportunity to showcase Georgian wine on a broad scale — to consumers, international wine experts, and representatives of the wine trade industry. This, in turn, contributes to the diversification of export markets and strengthens the export potential of Georgian wine.
This year, the festival featured 350 wines from 90 producers representing 12 countries.
Georgia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Austria, Aleksandre Maisuradze, Consul Tamta Kintsurashvili, and other embassy representatives attended the festival. Georgian winemakers also received support from the Georgian Embassy in Austria in presenting their wines.
This autumn, as part of efforts to further promote amber wine, Georgian wineries — with the support of the National Wine Agency — also participated in the international orange wine exhibition Orange Glou Fair and the first Georgian amber wine festival Amber Georgia, both held in New York City.
It is noteworthy that one of the key areas of activity for the National Wine Agency is the promotion and strengthening of Georgian wine's reputation in international markets. Since 2013, within the framework of its wine promotion program and with the goal of diversifying markets, the Agency has been conducting intensive advertising and marketing campaigns in the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
To increase the export potential and diversify markets, Georgian wine was presented — with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency — at 29 exhibitions and festivals and around 250 tastings and seminars across 20 countries in the United States, Europe, and Asia during the first ten months of 2025.
