Georgian Wine Featured at France’s Wine and Gastronomy Festival, Salon Savim
With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and its contracting company Le Pont Caucasien, Georgian wine was presented at the wine and gastronomy festival Salon Savim, held in Marseille, France.
Visitors of the festival had the opportunity to discover a variety of wines from around 10 Georgian wine producers and small family wineries. Georgian wine at the festival was introduced by the France-based oenologist and head of Le Pont Caucasien, Ilia Kakhoidze.
Salon Savim is one of France’s leading wine and gastronomy events, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually, including thousands of wine professionals, HoReCa sector representatives, and consumers. In total, around 450 wine producers from various countries participated in the festival.
One of the key directions of the National Wine Agency’s work is the promotion and increased awareness of Georgian wine on international markets. Since 2013, as part of its efforts to diversify export markets, the Agency has been implementing targeted promotional and marketing campaigns — including in wine-renowned countries like France, where interest in Georgian wine, especially qvevri wine, is steadily growing.
According to data from the first 10 months of the current year, 116,000 bottles of Georgian wine were exported to France — a 75% increase compared to the same period last year.
To expand Georgian wine’s export potential and diversify markets, in the first 10 months of 2025, with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine was presented at 29 exhibitions and festivals and up to 250 tastings and seminars across the United States, Europe, and Asia — in total, around 20 countries.
