Georgian Qvevri Wine Producers Showcase at SLOW WINE FAIR in Bologna
Georgian qvevri wine producers successfully participated in the international natural wine exhibition Slow Wine Fair, held in Bologna, Italy.
With the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, nine Georgian wineries presented their qvevri wines to an international audience. The participating producers included Andrias Wine, Velino, Chortauli Vineyards, Gotsa Wine, Baaduri 1933 Winery, Kondoli Winery, Sherma Family Winery and Niabi Winery.
The exhibition brought together approximately 1,000 wine companies from around the world, primarily specializing in organic and biodynamic wines. As one of Europe’s leading platforms for natural winemaking, the fair attracts up to 20,000 visitors annually, including representatives from the HoReCa sector, international distributors and importers.
Participation in the exhibition provided Georgian producers with an important opportunity to promote traditional qvevri wine, establish new business partnerships and strengthen export potential in strategic markets.
The 2026 edition marked the fifth time the exhibition has been held, while Georgian wine producers participated for the second time, reflecting the growing international interest in Georgia’s ancient winemaking tradition.
The event was also attended by the Consul General of Georgia in Milan, Natalia Kordzaia, underscoring the importance of institutional support in promoting Georgian wine abroad.
One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency is to increase awareness and visibility of Georgian wine in international markets. Through targeted marketing activities and participation in major international exhibitions, the Agency continues to diversify export markets and strengthen the global positioning of Georgian wine.
