Article on Western Georgian Wines Published by American Media Outlet The Wine Palate

An article about Western Georgian wines has been published by the American wine publication The Wine Palate, according to the National Wine Agency.

The author of the article is Lisa Perrotti-Brown, an American Master of Wine with more than 25 years of experience in the wine industry. She visited Western Georgia in October of this year within the framework of cooperation between the National Wine Agency and the U.S. company Big Sky Ranch Inc.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown toured Imereti and Racha, where she explored the diversity of Georgian wines and traditional Georgian winemaking techniques. A special tasting was also held in Tbilisi, where she tasted about 50 wines from different Georgian wine companies.

“Over the past fifteen years, I have visited Kakheti several times; after my first trip to Imereti and Racha, the differences between the regions of Georgia became even more evident. Western Georgia leans toward acidity, diversity, and elegance, influenced by the maritime climate, higher elevations, lighter maceration, and smaller-scale farming,” the author writes.

In the article, Lisa Perrotti-Brown presents her assessments of the 10 best wines selected from those she tasted in Western Georgia.

It is noteworthy that Lisa Perrotti-Brown also visited Georgia in July of this year. Following that visit, she published an article titled “Georgian Wines Step Onto the Global Stage” in The Wine Palate in September, featuring her evaluations of Georgian wines.
The Wine Palate is an online publication that includes a global database of expert wine reviews with regularly updated assessments.

The United States is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. With the support of the National Wine Agency, targeted marketing activities carried out since 2013 have significantly contributed to increasing the awareness and export growth of Georgian wine in the U.S.
