American Wine Professionals Explore Georgia on National Wine Agency-Supported Tour
A wine tour was held in Georgia with the support of the National Wine Agency and the American marketing company Colangelo & Partners.
The 14-person delegation included Marion Heluy, Georgian Wine Promotion Campaign Manager at Colangelo & Partners, as well as representatives of the American wine trade sector.
As part of the tour, the American guests visited Georgian wine-producing companies in Kakheti, where they learned about Georgian winemaking technologies and tasted wines produced using both classical and traditional methods. A Georgian wine masterclass and tasting were also held in Tbilisi, where guests were introduced to the wines of 16 Georgian wine-producing companies.
“A group from the USA is in Georgia – Texas, California, New Jersey, New York and Florida. Importers have come to purchase Georgian wines; distributors who work closely with importers to distribute wines to various markets; there are also owners of retail outlets. The main idea of the strategy, which we are implementing in close cooperation with the National Wine Agency, is to showcase the unique values of Georgia and create permanent ambassadors of Georgian wine from these people, which will contribute to the growth of Georgian wine sales in the United States,” said Marion Heluy.
The USA is a strategic market for Georgian wine, where an active marketing campaign is being implemented with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency.
As part of its cooperation with the National Wine Agency, Colangelo & Partners has been implementing a Georgian wine marketing campaign in the US since 2022. Colangelo & Partners is one of the largest marketing companies operating in the US market for more than 15 years.
