School Students Learn About the Work of the State Agricultural Laboratory
Students of the 9th grade from the Georgian-French School named after Saint-Exupéry visited the State Agricultural Laboratory of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The students toured the laboratory’s Food Research Department and Plant Pest Diagnostics Department, where they were introduced to the laboratory’s functions and work processes.
Laboratory specialists explained in detail the procedures for studying fungal and bacterial diseases, methods used to assess seed germination and plant growth, diagnostics of harmful insects and mites, as well as the stages of DNA analysis. In addition, the students received training on biosafety rules, where they learned the basic principles and safety standards required when working in a laboratory environment.
The State Agricultural Laboratory regularly hosts educational visits for school pupils and students, with the aim of increasing interest in laboratory and scientific work among young people and promoting agricultural professions.
