Levan Jgharkava Appointed Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili introduced Levan Jgharkava, the newly appointed Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, to the institution’s staff.

The Minister congratulated Jgharkava on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.

“We have ambitious plans for the future, and implementing them will require change and new approaches. Levan Jgharkava has many years of experience in the public sector, including in senior positions. I am confident that his experience and professional expertise will make a significant contribution to the continued development of the State Laboratory of Agriculture,” Davit Songulashvili said.

Songulashvili thanked the Laboratory’s former director, Irakli Guledani, for his work. According to the Minister, Guledani’s professional experience and contribution to the Laboratory’s development are highly valued, and he will therefore continue working within the Ministry’s system.

Levan Jgharkava has extensive experience in the public sector. Before being appointed Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, he headed the Department of Environmental Supervision. At various times, he served as Director of the Tbilisi Development Fund, Head of the Tbilisi Municipal Inspectorate, Governor of the Didube District and Director of Tbilservice Group LLC.

The Laboratory’s new director thanked the Minister for the trust placed in him and said he would work actively to fulfil the objectives set for the institution and support its continued development.

The State Laboratory of Agriculture operates through 13 laboratories across Georgia and offers nearly 500 types of testing services. It continuously introduces modern testing methods, expands its laboratory capabilities and works to improve the quality of its services.
