Georgia’s National Environment Agency Joins European Meteorological Network (EUMETNET)
The National Environment Agency of Georgia has officially become a member of the European Meteorological Network (EUMETNET) following the signing of a cooperation agreement. The agreement was signed by the Head of the Agency, Elene Ghubianuri.
“Under this agreement, the Hydrometeorology Department of the National Environment Agency will have the opportunity to collaborate with the national meteorological and hydrological services of European countries, participate in joint programs and modules, and access shared training resources,” said Ghubianuri.
“This cooperation will significantly enhance the quality of weather forecasting in Georgia and strengthen the agency’s capabilities in climate services and early warning systems.”
EUMETNET serves as a collaborative platform for national hydrometeorological services across Europe, aiming to improve the development and coordination of weather forecasting, climate services, and early warning mechanisms on a continental scale.
It is worth noting that EUMETNET is one of the leading organizations in its field, comprising 33 member and 6 cooperating organizations.
