Energy Training Center established by GNERC Launches New Project with International Visegrad Fund Support

With the support of the International Visegrad Fund (IVF), the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center (ENTC), operating under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), has launched a new project titled: "Energy Infrastructure Security During Climate Change-Induced Disasters."

The primary objective of the project is to share the expertise of Visegrad Group countries (Hungary, Czechia, Poland, and Slovakia) with Georgia to strengthen the resilience and preparedness of national energy infrastructure against climate-related disasters. The initiative includes conducting in-depth research, analyzing best international practices and regulatory frameworks, and developing actionable recommendations from international experts.

The project also features a robust educational component, including public lectures and training sessions designed to build the capacity of energy sector representatives, public officials, and local government bodies. The Guria region has been selected as the pilot area for these efforts. Key project outcomes, such as the presentation of research findings and the creation of a practical guidebook, are expected to significantly enhance Georgia’s energy security. The project starts in May 2026 and will conclude in October 2027.

Information regarding the project is available on the dedicated website: v4share.com.
