David Songulashvili: Promoting Georgian Production Remains a Top Priority

David Songulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, visited the livestock farm, animal feed factory, and related infrastructure of the companies Family Farm and FFF Georgia in the village of Khandaki, Kaspi Municipality.

The Minister toured the modern-standard facilities and was briefed on the animal feed system, biosecurity protocols, and veterinary control mechanisms in place. He also inspected a new facility under construction, which will further increase the company’s production capacity. At the animal feed factory, discussions focused on grain intake, quality control, and storage procedures.

“Supporting Georgian production remains a top priority. The government continues to implement programs that provide farmers and entrepreneurs with access to preferential agrocredit, modern equipment, processing and storage infrastructure, irrigation systems, and high standards in food safety and production,” Songulashvili stated.

He emphasized the strategic importance of Shida Kartli in livestock development, noting that the region is home to several high-productivity farms that significantly contribute to Georgia’s food security.

Family Farm and FFF Georgia are beneficiaries of state programs.

  • Family Farm LLC has received support through the Preferential Agrocredit project and the Co-financing of Harvesting Agricultural Machinery program.

  • The company also received 500,000 GEL in co-financing for the establishment of the “PFF Georgia” grain storage enterprise, where it has implemented the HACCP food safety standard.

Currently, Family Farm produces 16 tons of raw milk daily, all of which is sold on the local market. After the launch of the full production cycle next year, daily milk output is expected to increase to 30 tons.

Minister Songulashvili also visited the pig farm of “Akhali Ferma”, a beneficiary of the Preferential Agrocredit program, located in the village of Kavtiskhevi, Kaspi Municipality. The farm currently operates with a production capacity of 6,000 pigs.

The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in Shida Kartli Simon Guledani, Head of the National Food Agency Zurab Chekurashvili, as well as representatives of ministerial agencies and local self-government bodies.
