David Songulashvili Hosts Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister and FAO Director-General at Georgia's Pavilion During Belagro 2026
As part of his official visit to Minsk, Belarus, Georgia's Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, attended the opening ceremony of the Belagro 2026 International Agricultural Exhibition.
During the exhibition, Minister Songulashvili welcomed Yuri Shuleiko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Gorlov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, and Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to Georgia's national pavilion.
"This year marks the first time that Georgian products are being showcased at Belagro 2026, one of the region's largest international agricultural exhibitions. The Georgian pavilion has attracted significant attention from visitors, highlighting the growing international interest in Georgian products. We are confident that this strong interest will translate into new partnerships and export agreements, further supporting the production of Georgian agri-food products, increasing exports, and strengthening the country's economy," said Minister David Songulashvili.
According to Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Belarusian market presents important export opportunities for Georgian producers.
"It is of great importance for Georgia to continue developing relations with partner countries based on mutual respect and shared interests. High-level visits and participation in international events such as Belagro contribute significantly to these efforts. At the same time, the Belarusian market offers considerable potential for Georgian exports, and our goal is to make the most of these opportunities," Khvtisiashvili stated.
Georgia's pavilion at Belagro 2026 was organized with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, in cooperation with the Rural Development Agency and the National Wine Agency. The pavilion featured Georgian wine producers alongside companies representing the country's agri-food sector.
