Davit Songulashvili: Relations Between Georgia and China Have Entered a New Stage
According to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the recent visit of Georgia’s government delegation to the People’s Republic of China once again highlighted the importance of relations between the two countries.
“In terms of our Ministry, I would like to note that very important agreements were signed in the fields of both environmental protection and agriculture; cooperation memorandums were concluded. In the area of environmental protection, I especially want to highlight cooperation related to air quality, as well as collaboration on protected areas, ecotourism, and waste management,” said Davit Songulashvili.
The Minister emphasized cooperation with China in the agricultural field, noting the importance of learning from China’s experience in increasing productivity through modern technologies.
“I would like to highlight the agreement signed during our visit — the opening of the Chinese market for the export of Georgian chicken meat. This is one of the most important agreements.
It creates an opportunity for businesses to make even more investments in this sector. Practically, one of the largest markets in the world has now opened for Georgia. The visit to China, led by the Prime Minister, is particularly noteworthy in this regard, among many other achievements,” said Davit Songulashvili.
